Welcome to Green Tree Music!

Green Tree Music was founded in 2022 by musicians and educators Hugh Heller and Jake Amy. With years of combined performing and teaching experience, Hugh and Jake decided to set out and create a music teaching studio based on their own values and vision for music education. This vision is encapsulated in the metaphor of a leafy tree, which grows into its own unique and beautiful form when provided with the right environment, resources and time.

In our lessons, Green Tree Music focuses on providing students with the knowledge, resources and assistance to learn and perform the songs they love. This involves:
- Skill acquisition, in working through a quality method book
- Repertoire development, in learning desired songs at an appropriate difficulty
- Self-confidence, in performing at our end of term concerts
Over time, this cycle of practice and performing leads to students into their own unique and beautiful form as musicians.

We are currently offering private guitar lessons based at the Holden Street Neighbourhood House in Fitzroy North. Our current teachers are Hugh and Zee, and we are almost at full capacity! However, we do have several spots open on a Tuesday evening between 5:30pm and 7pm. Please get in touch if you have any questions or would like to secure a place.
