TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The following terms and conditions are applicable to Hugh Heller Music or Green Tree Music and student parent/guardians.
1. Lesson quota and lesson rates - Our lesson rates are as follows:
- Solo $45/30min, which equates to $360/8-lesson term or $720/16-lesson semester.
- Group of 2-4 $30/30min, which equates to $240/8-lesson term.
Group lessons will be allocated if there are two or more students on the waiting list for a group lesson. A student can take a solo lesson slot until another student requests a group lesson, but they will be charged at the solo rate until that time. Upon sign-up, Green Tree Music invoices from the lesson start date until the end of the semester unless the student or student’s parent/guardian requests to be invoiced from the lesson start date until the end of the term. This allows for up to 2 absences per term without the need for make-up lessons. If a student reaches their 8 lesson quota for the term, then any additional lessons will be drawn from the following term quota. Additional lessons may be requested by the student or by the student’s parent/guardian, and lessons will be credited upon payment via invoice to Green Tree Music. Students who sign up after the term commences (and with less than 8 lessons remaining in the term) will be invoiced for the lessons remaining in the term.
1b. Invoicing - invoices will be sent out via email 7-14 days before the start of term, and fees are to be paid within the first 2 weeks of the term or lessons will be terminated. For students commencing lessons during the term, fees must be paid within a 14 day period after the first lesson. Invoices may be paid online via card or Direct Debit.
1c. Enrolment - once a lesson invoice is paid, the student is considered to be enrolled at Green Tree Music on an ongoing basis. Notice of enrolment termination must be given in writing to Green Tree Music with at least 14 days notice before the start of a new term to avoid incurring a fee.
1d. Term Dates - Green Tree Music term dates follow the Victorian government school term dates.
2. Group lesson rate - Group lessons are invoiced at the same rate regardless of number in the group because Green Tree Music cannot guarantee a specific number of students in each group, and group size may change depending on fluctuations in enrolment. Groups will be capped at 4 to ensure the teacher’s attention is not diluted so much as to reduce the lesson experience for any one student.
3. Lesson cancellation policy - Lessons cancelled with more than 24 hours notice will not be deducted from the student’s lesson quota. Lessons not attended or cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will be deducted from the students lesson quota unless the student misses the lesson due to an unforeseen emergency or health issue.
4. Photography/Recording - Green Tree Music reserves the right to photograph, film and/or audio record students within lessons or performance for educational purposes. Green Tree Music reserves the right to use photographs, film and/or audio recordings of students within lessons or performance for promotional purposes if parental consent has been given. If consent is given and visual/audio content is used for promotional purposes, Green Tree Music will not share any identifying information about a student apart from their first name.
5. Property damage - Green Tree Music will not accept financial responsibility for any damage caused to property of the lesson venue by a student. If any property of Green Tree Music or a Green Tree Music teacher is damaged by a student, the student’s parent/guardian will be considered liable for the cost of replacement/repair.
6. Injury - Green Tree Music accepts no liability or responsibility for any injury sustained by a student that arises from participation in any activity connected with Green Tree Music. Green Tree Music accepts no liability or responsibility for any injury sustained by any minors, siblings, friends or relatives of a student who attend or wait during Green Tree Music activities.
7. Teacher absence - if a teacher is unable to teach a scheduled lesson, the lesson will be made up at a different time or credited to the following term. Green Tree Music will endeavour to give the student or the student’s parent/guardian as much notice as possible but cannot guarantee notice will be given with more than 24 hours notice.
8. Use of contact information - Green Tree Music collects email addresses and phone numbers of student parent/guardians for the purposes of communication concerning a) the student they are parent/guardian of and b) Green Tree Music events. Contact information will be accessible by the teacher of that student. Green Tree Music asks parents and guardians to ensure contact information is up to date and correspondence is checked regularly, as Green Tree Music will not accept responsibility for any issues caused by incorrect or out of date contact information.
9. Questions - please email Green Tree Music at info@greentreemusic.com.au if you have any questions.
